Hello Friends & Family!
We are thrilled to announce that we are indeed expecting! Baby Woodland is due tentatively on May 14th. We will hopefully find out a more exact due date on October 10th when we go in for our first appointment & ultrasound. Until then we are going off the nifty apps that my phone provides us with which gave us a due date of May 14th. Some very special things occur around May 14th every year such as... Mother's Day is May 13th, (At this point I think it would be very cool to have the baby on Mother's Day but I may regret that a few years down the road), also May 13th is my parent's wedding anniversary. Would be kind of a unique way to celebrate!
It's been a whirlwind since we found out. We found out when I was just 4 weeks along. As of tomorrow I will be 9 weeks and it has been an amazing 4 weeks since we found out. We were able to go visit my family in CA this past week and we had a great time. Even though I was sick and my dad is still recovering from his recent bone marrow transplant, we were all happy to be together and to just enjoy the time relaxing.
While there we were able to have a family/friends get together for everyone to see my dad for the first time sine the bone marrow transplant. My mom also happily announced "You will all have to start calling us Grama & Papa from now on!" at the party. It was a wonderful night filled with laughs, good advice on the months/years/decades to come and all together just a great time.
Another highlight of the trip was getting to tell my grandparents in person that we were going to have a baby. It was one of the best moments I have had with them in a long time. There was no shortage of tears or laughter as we all watched them try to figure out what was going on and why they were being recorded.
All in all it was a great trip and we can't wait to go back or have my family come visit us up here in Oregon.

That was awesome. Long pause..... "You're pregnant?" while your grandma on the other hand is trying so hard not to freak out with excitement! haha, loved it!
